United Nation observers are ramping up their presence in Syria as
unrelenting violence continues. Nearly 200 observers were on ground in
the country as new bloodshed undermines their mission to oversee a
truce. A government raid took the lives of at least five people in a
farming village and burned down many homes. Fox News producer John
Fiegener joined America’s News HQ by phone from Damascus.
He told Gregg Jarrett
that since the ceasefire they have seen daily violations but, “The UN
presence here is much about gathering information, knowing what’s
happening around the country and this really helps to provide a clear
picture. It puts all sides on notice that someone is watching. So in that sense it does help.”
