Field Conditions in Hama and its Suburbs ||
• A large number of helicopters were flying over the city today as an explosion followed by intense gunfire was heard in al-Arb'een . At the ame time there was gunfire from al-Bahra Roundabout and a large explosion that was heard in Tareeq Halab. Armored vehicles were spotted near Villat Roundabout as smoke was seen rising from the western part of the city where the train station and military airport are located.
• In a new show put on by the regime, security forces brought UN observers and Addounia TV to al-Arb'een where they planted an explosive device in a building occupied by security forces. They intended on dismantling it in front of the monitors and the cameraman. However, the bomb went off and injured more than 10 people. Regime forces also surrounded al-Arb'een with tanks and military machines.
• In the morning, cars belonging to the security forces entered Tayebt al-Imam along with armored vehicles. They stormed the city amid heavy gunfire as warplanes flew overhead. Security forces added another checkpoint between Tayebt al-Imam and Qamhana to help them capture activists.
• The villages of Kawkab, al-Kbareya, and Karah which neighbor Souran were shelled with heavy artillery today by regime forces and farmlands in the village were burned as the time for harvest nears. Stacks of smoke filled the sky as a result of the fire in the fields.
Many family are overcome with fear and fled the city.
• Members of the regime army at the Jarjaisa checkpoint assaulted a man from Aqrab and stole his car.
• Warplanes flew over the Hama countryside in the following towns:
Kafranbooda - Qal'aat al-Madeeq - al-Latamne - Tayebt al-Imam - Karnaz - Kafrzeita
There was intense gunfire in the following towns:
al-Sharee'a: heavy gunfire from military checkpoints
Tayebt al-Imam: Heavy gunfire from checkpoints surrounding the city
al-Zaka: The regime army stormed the town amid heavy gunfire and began looting houses and destroying people's belongings as they burned the houses of several activists
