Twenty-two killed across Syria as troops pound rebel bastion, NGO says

Syrian regime troops pounded on Monday a key rebel bastion in central Homs province in a bid to regain control of the area as 22 people were killed in violence across the country, monitors said.
Government troops used helicopters to strafe rebel positions in the town of Rastan which has been under intermittent army shelling "for months," the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
