Explosions Shake Damascus, Evidence Implicates the Regime Cars burn at the site of the explosion in the Damascus neighbourhood of Qazaz Top Stories Two explosions shook the capital Damascus, leading to 55 deaths and 372 injuries according to state media. The regime forced parents of one of the victims of the explosions to bury their son without a funeral, fearing the procession would turn into a demonstration. The explosions targeted a security centre and a UNICEF quarters downtown. The regime blamed al-Qaeda and the revolutionaries, while opposition forces said the regime carried out the explosions. The Assad regime attempted to justify the presence of its forces to stop the opposition’s plans of holding sit-ins in the capital on Friday, and threaten residents of the capital with repercussions of their support to the revolution. The opposition based its accusations on evidence such as the closure of many streets in the vicinity of the explosion sites by the regime hours before the explosion in order to force residents to pass in front of the explosion site. Other proofs included the presence of bodies of confirmed detainees at the scene, the bombs going off in neighbourhoods heavily controlled by regime forces, and the random firing in the air by regime forces that state media blamed the revolutionaries for. Furthermore, the regime forced parents of one of the victims to bury their son without a funeral, fearing the procession would turn into a demonstration. UN Observers’ Director, General Robert Mood, inspected the sites of the explosions and condemned the attacks, while another team of observers visited the city of Daraa again. Assad’s forces continued to violate the terms of the ceasefire, as they opened heavy fire in the neighbourhoods of the cities of Hama, Deir Azzour, and Boukamal, and shelled the town of Orum, Ihsem, Khan Sheikhoun, Bedama and Maaret Noman amid heavy fire in the province of Idlib. As for Daraa, regime forces shelled the town of Herak, opened heavy fire in the neighbourhood of Daraa Balad, the towns of Tafas, Mlaiha Sharqiya, and conducted arbitrary arrests and sweeps in the town of Jassem. Regime forces killed at least 31; most fell in the province of Homs as army forces shelled the city of Homs and the towns of Rastan, Tal Kalakh and Qalat Huson. In the capital, regime forces opened heavy fire at demonstrations in the neighbourhood of Hajar Aswad and conducted arbitrary arrests and sweeps. They also besieged the suburbs of Aqraba, Shaba, Hataita Turkman, Harasta and Hazza, raided the suburb of Damir amid heavy fire, and opened heavy machinegun fire in the suburbs of Zamalka, Hamouriya, Qatana, and Yelda. Students continued to demonstrate at the University of Raqa and the regime responded by raiding the arts and humanities departments, and arresting dozens of students after brutally assaulting many of them. On the other hand, revolutionaries successfully carried out an operation that targeted a bus transporting regime’s militiamen in the Abasiyin square in Damascus. انفجاران يهزّا العاصمة والأدلّة تشير إلى تورّط النظام   هزّ انفجاران العاصمة دمشق قُتلَ على إثرهما 55 قتيلاً و372 جريحاً حسب مصادر الإعلام الرسمي. وقد استهدف أحد الانفجارين مقرّاً أمنيّاً والآخر مقرَّ يونيسيف وسط العاصمة. وبينما سارع النظام إلى إلقاء اللوم على تنظيم القاعدة والثوّار، أفادت أطراف من المعارضة أنّ النظام قام بتنفيذ التفجيرات من أجل تبرير التواجد الأمني والعسكري ومنع خطط المتظاهرين لاحتلال ساحات العاصمة يوم الجمعة، مما يُشكل تهديداً لأهالي العاصمة من مغبّة دعمهم للثوّار. وقد استدلَّت المعارضة في اتّهامها على عدة أدلة منها: إغلاق النظام للشوارع المحيطة بمناطق الانفجارين في الطبّالة والقزّاز بهدف إجبار المدنيين على المرور قرب موقع الانفجارين وذلك تحديداً قُبيل موعد الانفجارين، ووجود جثثٍ لبعض المعتقلين المعروفين بين الضحايا، وحدوث الانفجارات قرب مواقع أمنيّة في مناطق تُسيطر عليها قوّات الأمن، وقيام قوّات الأمن بإطلاق النيران في الهواء وإلقاء اللوم على الثوّار لاحقاً. وقد قامت قوّات الأسد الغاشمة بإجبار ذوي أحد قتلى التفجيرات على تشييعه ودفنه بصورة سرية خوفاً من تحوّل التشييع إلى مظاهرة كبيرة وقام رئيس فريق المراقبين الدوليين الجنرال روبرت مود بتفقّد مكان الانفجارين، بينما قامت اللجنة بزيارة درعا مجدّداً واستمرت قوّات النظام بانتهاك بنود وقف إطلاق النار، حيث قامت بإطلاق نار كثيف في أحياء مدن حماة ودير الزور والبوكمال، وقصف بلدات أورم وإحسم وخان شيخون وبداما ومعرّة النعمان وسط إطلاق نار كثيف في محافظة إدلب. أما في درعا، فقد قامت قوّات النظام بقصف بلدة الحراك وإطلاق نار كثيف في حي درعا البلد وبلدات طفس والمليحة الشرقيّة وتنفيذ حملة مداهمات واعتقالات عشوائيّة في بلدة جاسم وقتلت قوّات النظام ما لا يقل عن 31 شخصاً، سقط أغلبهم في حمص جرّاء القصف العنيف على أحياء المدينة وعلى بلدات الرستن وتلكلخ وقلعة الحصن وفي العاصمة، أطلقت قوّات النظام النار على مظاهرات حي الحجر الأسود، وشنَّت حملة اعتقالات ومداهمات عشوائيّة، وحاصرت بلدات عقربا وشبعا وحتيتة التركمان وحرستا وحزّة في ريف دمشق، واقتحمت بلدة الضمير وسط إطلاق رصاص كثيف، وأطلقت نيران الرشاشات الثقيلة في بلدات زملكا وحمورية وقطنا ويلدا واستمرّت مظاهرات الطلّاب في جامعة الرقّة مما أدّى إلى قيام قوّات النظام باقتحام كليّة الآداب واعتقال العشرات من الطلّاب والطالبات وضربهم بشكل مبرح ومن جانب آخر، نفّذ الثوّار بنجاح عمليّة استهدفت حافلة تقل ميليشيّات النظام في العاصمة دمشق قرب ساحة العباسيين أبرز المقاطع المصورة القدم، دمشق: تشييع الشهيد مالك خليفة والأمن يطلق الرصاص على المشيعين، ج2 كفرسوسة، دمشق: تشييع حاشد للشهيدين نذير وأسامة زين والمُشيعون ينددون بمجازر النظام ضد شعبه، ج2 الشاغور، دمشق: تشييع حاشد للشهيد فراس كيال والمتظاهرون يهتفون ضد النظام المجرم، ج2 العليليات، حماة: عصابات الأسد تقصف مسجد الفلاح عند أداء المصليين لصلاتهم Revolution Statistics Syrians killed: 14,528 Children killed: 1031 Females killed: 957 Soldiers killed: 1,210 Protestors killed under torture: 569 Missing: +65,000 Protestors currently incarcerated: +212,000 Syrian refugees since March: +54,164 Refugees in Turkey: 24,564 Refugees in Lebanon: +24,000 Refugees in Jordan: +5,600 International Reactions US frees $40 million in aid for victims of violence Japan mulls providing more aid for suffering people in Syria UN council condemns Syria “terrorist attacks” US condemns Syria suicide attacks near gov't building Qatar charity launches urgent relief project for Syrian refugees UN chief warns of upsurge of Syria bombs Selected Media Coverage Ahram Online: William Hague on Egypt, Iran and Syria Arab News: Kilo's options, war or Assad Washington Post: A shameful impasse on Syria The Atlantic Wire: Did Syria destroy its own intelligence agency?
