he Syrian National Council (SNC) on Tuesday announced that it will be
sending some of its prominent members to Syria, thus marking its return
to the strife-stricken country.
“In a step, which is considered the most important one since [the
SNC’s] establishment, the council announces its return to the Syrian
territories through the coming back of some of its prominent members,”
the council said in an statement.
The statement added that this step “stems out from the council’s
belief in the responsibility [it is carrying] after the rebels raised [a
slogan saying] the national council represents us.”
