Ground situation
-The town of Basr al-Harir in the Dar’aa Province is declared a disaster zone. There is no water, no medicine, no doctors, no food, no electricity, and no communications. The town has been tightly besieged for 86 days. There are dozens of injured and detained people, many fallen heroes, and hundreds of refugees. Assad forces are looting, vandalizing, and setting homes on fire.
- There were 2 casualties in Dar’aa killed by regime forces on Thursday. The number of violations by the regime of the Annan plan was at least 13 today, and there were more than 17 demonstration points around Dar’aa.
- Assad forces opened fire violently in the town of al-Meleha al-Sharqiyah, targeting civilians, while tanks stormed the town.
- Assad forces carried out a raid campaign in the towns of Jassem and Ghabagheb, and several civilians were injured in the town of Tafas.
- Assad forces are still holding on to dozens of bodies of dead residents and refusing to hand them over to their families.
- There is a severe shortage in food and fuel, and an ongoing suffocating siege of all towns in Dar’aa, including a complete cut off of all communications.
- Demonstrations mobilized in Dar’aa today in solidarity with all of Syria, the sacrifices of the fallen heroes, and with the stricken towns.
