The Daily Report of The Syrian Province of Al-Hasakah for Thursday, May 17, 2012

Anti-regime demonstrations took place in al-Hasakah city in solidarity with the afflicated and besieged cities, demanding the freedom, release of detainees, arming the free syrian army, overthrowing the regime and executing Bashar al-Assad.

On the other hand, two students of first-year Mechanical Engineering Maalek Khaled al-Younes and Taareq Mumtaaz al-Hasan were arrested by security forces for taking part in a sit-in protest at Damascus University on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
Maalek and Taareq are from al-Hasakah city.

A high school student Heshaam Muhammad al-Fai'yadh was arrested by security forces on 1 September 2011 in al-Hasakah city.
His fate is still unknown till date.

Author Hussein Eisso and journalist Shebaal Ebraheim are still detained without trial.
Their health deteriorated in the prison. Their fate is unknown.

Author Evein Harsaan was arrested by security forces Wednesday evening in Damascus city and released at midnight.
She is from al-Qamishli city of al-Hasakah province.

Eight soldiers and two officers defected on Monday, May 14, 2012, and joined Dere'a al-Jazeera Brigade of the free Syrian army.
Six members of Air Intelligence defected on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, and joined Dere'a al-Jazeera Brigade of the free Syrian army.
