News has
been circulating of the arrival of the UN delegation to Latakia at Rotana
Hotel, and according to an eye-witness the delegation’s cars, all 5 of them,
were seen on Latakia-Jableh road heading to the city. Heavy security was detected
near the Governorate building in MarTaqla with Dounia TV crew in the area.
Yesterday first
lieutenant Saleh Kilieh defected along with 6 soldiers and two BRDM cars in
Khan Shaikhoon of Haffeh joining the FSA there.
Demos started
today with one inside Karama School, followed by one in the School Complex in
Qnainas and had to end after an explosion took place in the area.
Suleiman Hambo
School students blocked the street with garbage cans as they protested and late
a demo took place in Bustan al-Sidawi.
What looked
like a battle took place between the Shakoosh and al-Aswad families in Slaybeh
today as security members were watching; both families are known for drag
dealing and supporting the regime. Reinforcement came late to break it off.
50 year-old
Imad Skati got arrested in his workplace in Owieneh today and 27 year-old
Hussein Abdul-Raheem was arrested in Qalaa. Hasan Hleiwa was released after 45
days in prison.
Security and
inspection were tight on all Raml barriers especially on Masbah al-Shaab amd
Nazlet al-Raml, and 5 armed security cars were in Talaa Camp.
Security pulled
out of Jeb al-Ahmar village in Kurds Mountains; the reason they were there in
the first place was to monitor the funeral of an army officer in the village.
A big
explosion shook al-Hirsh road at night, and then another 5 explosions were
heard in al-Raml area; one was near the security branch along with gunfire.
